Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ReceiptIQ. They govern your access to and use of receipt-iq.com and all associated services. Our Privacy Policy is at https://receipt-iq.com/privacy. We have written these terms in plain English to make them as clear as possible.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using ReceiptIQ, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including free-tier and paid subscribers.
2. Description of service
ReceiptIQ provides AI-powered receipt and invoice extraction, semantic search, and structured data storage. The service allows you to upload receipt and invoice files, automatically extract key data fields (vendor, date, total, line items), search across your receipts using natural language, and export data in structured formats.
Paid plans also include optional email sync: you may connect Gmail or Outlook to automatically import receipt and invoice emails from your inbox. Email sync uses read-only access — ReceiptIQ scans for receipt-related messages and imports qualifying attachments; it does not send, delete, or modify your email.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.
3. Account registration
To use ReceiptIQ, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, you must notify us immediately at support@receipt-iq.com. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
4. Email integrations (Gmail & Outlook)
If you choose to connect Gmail or Outlook, you authorise ReceiptIQ to access your mailbox on a read-only basis for the sole purpose of detecting and importing receipt and invoice emails into your account.
You agree that:
• You will only connect email accounts you own or are authorised to access
• You understand ReceiptIQ will scan your inbox for receipt-related messages using automated filters
• ReceiptIQ will not send, delete, modify, or label your emails
• You may disconnect at any time from Settings → Email Integrations, via your Google or Microsoft account permissions, or by contacting support@receipt-iq.com
ReceiptIQ's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. See our Privacy Policy at https://receipt-iq.com/privacy for full details on what data we access, how we use it, and how to disconnect.
Email sync is a paid feature available on eligible subscription plans. We are not responsible for emails that are not detected or imported due to filtering, provider limitations, or changes to third-party APIs.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use ReceiptIQ only for lawful purposes. You must not:
• Upload illegal content, fraudulent documents, or receipts belonging to others without authorisation
• Attempt to circumvent API rate limits, quotas, or security measures
• Use automated scraping or bulk data extraction beyond normal API usage
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the ReceiptIQ service without a written agreement with us
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the service
• Use the service in a way that damages, disrupts, or impairs its availability for other users
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
6. Subscription and billing
ReceiptIQ offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Freelancer, Business, and Intelligence). Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused uploads. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 14 days at support@receipt-iq.com and we will investigate promptly.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes do not apply to the current billing period already paid.
7. Data ownership
You own your receipts, invoices, and all data extracted from them. By uploading content or importing receipts via email sync, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and index that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim any ownership over your data. You may export or delete your data at any time. If you close your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
8. Service availability
We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime for the ReceiptIQ service. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for service interruptions caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including internet outages, third-party service failures (Supabase, Stripe, cloud infrastructure), or force majeure events. You can monitor service status at receipt-iq.com/status.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ReceiptIQ and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100 GBP — whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you may close your account before they take effect.
